Hattie Rex is a women-owned business specializing in hand-stamped metal jewelry, accessories and pet ID tags. Our studio and retail shop are located in beautiful downtown Bozeman, Montana. At Hattie Rex, our goal is to craft unique creations with a handmade feel and personal touch.

WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU DO?

At Hattie Rex, we like to say we create memories. Our custom keepsakes are designed to be personal and unique.

Hattie Rex consists of Tessa, Cassandra and Julia. Tessa founded Hattie Rex over 12 years ago, hiring Cassandra back in 2014 and Julia in 2017. Together they are the creative force behind Hattie Rex's retail store and all of its designs, including unique jewelry, men's accessories and custom pet ID tags.

HOW DO YOU WORK AND MAKE THE GREAT THINGS YOU MAKE?

Our studio is located in our retail shop, so as we work we get to see and interact with our store customers. Hattie Rex is a small operation with only 3 employees (and one dog)! We use all sorts of equipment, including pancake dies, hydraulic press, rolling mill, acetylene torch, belt sander, jeweler’s saw and much more, to transform sheet metal into unique/usable products.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?

Tessa began Hattie Rex in her basement back in 2007, seeking to create stylish pet tags for her yellow lab, Pablo. Due to such a popular demand amongst her friends and family, she began selling her creations on Etsy. At the time, she was the first person to create and sell pet tags on Etsy. She later transitioned into human jewelry as well and that launch Hattie Rex into what it is today.

WHERE DO YOU DRAW YOUR INSPIRATION FROM?

We get inspired by anything and everything. From people to pups, creating custom pieces that fit our customers' needs is what we do best. And living in Montana doesn't hurt either!
