Workshops & Consults

Interested in working with glass? This class is a great way to experience glass. Participants will have the chance to design a mosaic, pick out stained glass and nip and shape the glass to use in their mosaic.

We will discuss ways to create depth with color and texture while sharing in the spirit of being creative. You will be provided with an 8 x 12 piece of clear glass framed in thin metal with hooks for hanging. The mosaic made in this class is ideal for hanging in your window. We use a clear glue for adhering the glass pieces to the glass background and you will have the choice of a bone or black colored grout for the cracks. Due to the time needed to dry you will watch a demo of the grouting and will take home supplies and cheat sheet for finishing your project 7-10 days after class.

SNOWY OWL FELTING

Have you always wanted to learn how to needle felt? Join artist Claudia Paillao of Patagonian Hands and learn how to make a Snowy Owl by using barbed needles to poke the wool into shape.

Claudia creates animals, mostly birds, using only sheep wool that she gets locally in Montana and from her family’s farm in Chile. You will receive all the supplies and instructions you need to make a small Snowy Owl sculpture or ornament.

We are asking successful artists & makers to help provide advice and guidance to those starting out and beginning the process. Pictured below are MADE fair artists that are excelling at their craft and doing a great job.

HandMADE Montana will be organizing and presenting small workshops about the ins and outs of small businesses, marketing, display & packaging, and social media. Our learning sessions will be focused on developing our business tools and networking with other like-minded creative folks.
