When we moved to Montana in 2019, my Mother in Law lent me her 1982 Bernina sewing machine — or shall I say, I hijacked it from her. That’s when my five years of fashion school come in handy. Just like riding a bike, I knew what to do and recreated my favorite coat. I found a similar pattern, changed it a little bit, bought three yards of 100% boiled wool, got a Serger and made my first prototype. Family, friends, neighbours wanted one.
I have been a brand/web designer for decades, with a BFA in Illustration and a Masters in Art & Economy in Austria, it was second nature to create the images, logo, website and marketing direction for the brand. My friends modeled for me in the bitter cold in the Bitterroot Valley and made my coats come to life.
