I’m a ceramist by trade, but in 2017 I built my first mountain-scape with reclaimed lumber from Home Resource – a recycled materials store in Missoula, MT.
I’ve always loved to make artwork that tells a story and it didn’t take long for me to fall in love with the imperfect nature of reclaimed wood and its ability to bring mountains to life in my art.
While my work gives each piece of wood another life – it also captures the memories each of us shares with our favorite landscapes. Whether you grew up in the Rockies or fell in love with them later in life – people go to the mountains to find their sense of wonder.
Today, I source my wood from torn-down buildings, homes, and barns from across Montana. While the clay body I use for ceramics is sourced from the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena, MT.
