Missoula Butterfly House and Insectarium

The mission of the Missoula Butterfly House and Insectarium is to inspire an appreciation and understanding of insects and their relatives through educational programs and innovative science exhibits featuring live invertebrates. We achieved the first phase of this vision in June 2015 by opening the Missoula Insectarium on Front St. in downtown Missoula. The theme of the Missoula Insectarium is The Little Things That Run the World. It is comprised of six main exhibits and 19 aquariums and terrariums with live arthropods, an animal encounter cart where guests can touch and hold our bug ambassadors, microscope stations, and various other educational elements. We also have a classroom where we host field trips, birthday parties, lectures and special events.
