Handmade wearable works of art inspired by the American West. All jewelry and silk paintings are handmade by me, Emily Dubrawski, in my home studio.
In silk, hand-drawn designs pops against vibrant, fade-resistant dyes on habotai scarves. I grew up riding horses at a guest ranch in Western Montana. There, I saw grizzled old cowboys wearing delicate-seeming bright colored silk "Wild Rags" to protect their face from the cold of winter or the dust of summer. The juxtaposition of weathered faces and shiny silk inspired me to paint Wild Rags of my own. I take mine everywhere with me- fly fishing, skiing, dancing-even to work!
For jewelry, I work in sterling silver, other precious metals, and semiprecious stones. Jewelry has been my passion since an aunt took me to a bead store at a young age. I first learned how to smith metal in Italy in 2008.
