Heirloom Baskets by Ron Gue

Each basket is uniquely crafted from a single piece of hardwood. These baskets are not woven, but sawn.  Once cut, each piece is carefully sanded, then assembled with complimentary or contrasting vertical hardwood slats.  Only wood, glue and clear lacquer are used, without stains or colors.  

Each basket is a functional work of art that will be cherished as an heirloom in your family, or treasured by friends as a gift.

I purchased my first loom in 1988, following many years of sewing, quilting and cross-stitching samplers on linen.  Textiles intrigue me and this seemed a natural next step.

I weave wearable art, items for the home and fabric art suitable for framing - shawls, scarves, one of a kind fabrics, throws, baby blankets, table runners, rugs, as well as patriotic and inspirational artwork.
