Girls Thrive

Girls Thrive (GT) aims to empower girls in grades 4-12 through various physical activities and educational lessons that promote self-confidence, self-esteem, and positive body image. Currently, GT provides three impactful programs throughout the year.

The Community Program is open to girls in grades 6-12 and provides seasonal programming in the Fall, Winter, and Spring. Sessions are eight weeks long and include practices three times per week at various locations in Helena. Core sports provided are mountain biking, running, and indoor rock climbing; however, activities change seasonally. Educational lessons about body image, leadership, mental health, goal-setting, and more are incorporated with physical activities.

The School Program serves girls in grades 4-5 and takes place at Title I elementary schools in Helena to eliminate transportation barriers to participation. It is a condensed version of the Community Program but catered to girls in grades 4-5.

The Summer Confidence Clinic is a two-day clinic at Montana Wild for girls entering grades 6-12. It takes place over the summer. Girls gain confidence heading into the school year and learn about mental health, body image, self-care, and more from local experts. They also try outdoor activities such as fishing, birding, and paddle boarding.

Throughout all these programs, participants learn new ways to move their bodies and grow in strength, confidence, and community through our targeted educational lessons. GT envisions a world where girls grow up with confidence and understanding of their potential to overcome barriers and become strong, healthy, community-minded women.
