X bar 4 Studio

Cathy Hansen handcrafts limited edition jewelry in her studio in St. Regis. She works in polymer, a low fire clay that has the chameleon-like ability to mimic the look of many mediums- tooled leather and stone are her favorites. Her work utilizes many mixed media surface techniques - including acrylic paints, metal surfacers, and etching, then embellished with conchos and other components, and distressed to give the feeling of a well-loved artifact. Inspired by her love of western and traditional native American art, X bar 4 Studio designs are interpreted in a rugged and rustic style. The X bar 4 cattle brand was registered in the 1940's in Montana by Cathy’s father-in-law and was used on a working cattle ranch- that brand stands for integrity, hard work, and the spirit of Montana. It seemed fitting to honor that heritage, when this venture began, with the X bar 4 name.
