I love being able to make a living by following my natural inclinations as an artist. It's constantly a challenge and there's lots of uncertainty, but I'm thrilled I've been able to keep at it.

I've always been an avid drawer. I started making comics as a way to unlock the stories hidden inside the weird imagery that naturally seemed to come out of my subconscious. I started doing the woodcut art initially because I got burnt out constantly framing art for shows, and now it's become an important part of my process.

My woodcut art is made pretty spontaneously. I cut out shapes and characters without knowing exactly how the finished piece will look, then I get to have a lot of fun exploring those shapes. Everything I do comes from my love of drawing and the immediacy and excitement of making something up as I go.
