Jenna Forest is a Bitterroot-based wood burning artist. Her woodworking and artistic journey began in 2011 when she traveled to Antarctica as a science support carpenter for The National Science Foundation. She began wood-burning in her spare time, using construction scraps as her "canvas." She has since migrated back to Montana and, instead of penguins and ice bergs, her art reflects the rustic beauty of our lovely state and its wild inhabitants.
From mountain landscapes to wildlife, she uses heat application to create her designs; often incorporating a zentangle method, splashes of acrylic, and/or hand-mixed stains for color and depth. Most of her hand-cut pieces are from locally salvaged and reclaimed wood from around the state.
True South products range from large live-edge wall art, to smaller items such as wood-cookie ornaments, wood spoons, cutting boards, and earrings.
Jenna is always happy to take on commissions.
