FDES: functional design

FDES is a modern textiles company, focused on improving sustainability and fostering a transition to circularity for outdoor gear and clothing.
I make upcycled bags and accessories; totes from old sweatshirts, retired outdoor gear turned into new backpacks and fanny packs, and wallets and laptop bags made from fabric offcuts. Just to name a few.
I also make new clothing from thrifted apparel; dyeing, printing and painting on existing clothes to give them a new life.
In the fall and spring I focus on teaching workshops to empower my community to bring circularity into their own lives.
