Stella Nall

I Wish You Wish To Wish

I Wish You Wish to Wishis a tender, storybook-like giclée print by Stella Nall, featuring a wolf and sheep surrounded by flowers and delicate beadwork-inspired detail. Sweet at first glance, the piece carries the layered curiosity found throughout Nall’s work, in which animals often serve as stand-ins for human stories of connection, longing, joy, and belonging.

Nall, whose Native name is Bisháakinnesh, is a first descendant of the Apsáalooke/Crow tribe. Her work often blends playfulness with deeper themes of identity, storytelling, and our relationships with animals and one another. In this piece, the wolf and sheep feel both unlikely and connected, creating a quiet moment that invites viewers to imagine their own story.

Printed as a giclée, this piece preserves the richness, detail, and charm of the original artwork, making it a beautiful addition to a home, gallery wall, or collection of contemporary Native artwork.

The article notes that Nall’s animal pieces often draw people in with charm while holding universal stories of “love and heartbreak and grief and joy.”
