Carey Me Away Designs

My name is Mariah Carey Ward, and I’ve been doing leatherwork for about 6 years. Growing up in 4-H, I was never interested in taking leatherwork as a project, despite my brother and numerous cousins taking their many leather projects to fair. It wasn’t until I took a belt stamping class as a 4-H leader that I started to grow interest.  After digging out my brother’s tools, I began to practice what would soon become my passion. Over the next six years, I have continuously practiced my leather tooling skills while creating custom pieces and items for shows. For in-person shows, I mostly have jewelry, handbags, hair pieces, and wallets on hand, as well has an assortment of gift-type items. Many of my items include a hand tooled aspect, making them truly one of a kind!
