Hi! My name is Joni and I paint with dirt, yup...dirt. The short version of the story of how this came about is that dirt would give my artwork more character and meaning. I started out by collecting dirt from the spot a photograph was taken that I wanted to paint. Now I also gather dirt to use from places that may have "seen" a lot of history. Old homestead sites, buffalo wallows, near an Indian battlefield and many more exciting places. Thanks for the interest in my work!
