I grew up in the Bitterroot Valley and have always been drawn to making things. After moving to Portland for college, I found my love for ceramics and taught myself how to work in the medium. I recently moved back home to Stevensville, and have been working hard on expanding my studio practice ever since!
I am a hand-builder, meaning I do not throw pottery on the wheel, I create pieces from flat slabs of clay, or by pinching or coiling! This means that every single piece is completely unique, and bears marks of process, like fingerprints, organic shaped rims, and evidence of the hands that made it.
I also love color! I think pottery is best when it is intentional, fun and above all, joyful! I prioritize bright color combinations and hand-painted designs that bring a smile to your face.
