Hi! My name is Joshua and I make utilitarian pottery that is fired in atmospheric kilns to stoneware temperatures. Most of my work is turned on the potter's wheel and the surfaces and colors of my pots comes from the firing process. One of the things I like most about making pots is the physicality of the work and how I feel pleasantly exhausted after a good day in the studio. I dig into the details with my work: focusing on the subtle transitions in the profile of a cup, the angles I trim into the foot ring of my bowls or the amount of visual weight that I create with the rims of my plates. It's my goal to make pottery that folks gravitate towards using to enhance their meals or improve their morning coffee time
