Alena May Jewelry

Art is an expression of where we are at in our lives. I am an outdoor enthusiast, botanist, homeschooling mom, wife and lover of all things nature. I bring each of these pieces of me into the jewelry I create. My art is inspired by the mountains, plants and animals that surround me, as well as the adventures that my family enjoys.

I use mixed metals in my jewelry and form my pieces using traditional metalsmithing techniques. Each of my pieces are hand-fabricated; I use recycled sheet metal and wire and use techniques such as sawing, hammering, soldering, filing, texturing and oxidizing to create each unique piece. I seek to bring the artistry of nature into each piece, to pull us back from our busy lives, take a deep breath and relax into nature’s beauty and bounty.
