Shaded Relief Maps is run by Phillip Pearson, a Bozeman native driven by a lifelong connection to the landscapes of his backyard. His passion is capturing Montana’s terrain as faithfully as possible, from sweeping ridgelines to the subtle marks of change etched by time and geology. He combines his background in GIS and cartography with modern elevation data and reimagined vintage maps from the early 1900s, updated with detailed shading and color. Over the years he has built a catalog of more than 120 designs, from rivers and lakes to restored historic works centered on favorite places. The finished pieces are fine art map prints rooted in the landscapes of Montana and the West.
