Melissa Thompson sculpture

My multi-media sculptural works are creatures who have a sense of time and wonder to them. I use as many natural materials in my work as possible, striving to create a sustainable practice. I have been a feltmaker for the last 12 years, and this is the material that has been the focal point for my animals. I have recently begun to incorporate ceramic horns into them and with this, I have been able to push them further into the timeless realm. Each animal comes together in a different way, adding visual interest and personality.
