Nicole Kovacs, the maker behind Trail Spice Designs, is a completely self taught artist who creates handmade jewelry for women who love unique pieces that have connection to the beautiful untamed landscapes they love adventuring in.
She sees her work as love letters to her favorite mountains and streams, and the flora and fauna that call them home.
Trail Spice began several winters ago from a love of the simple beauty of birch bark and porcupine quills, paired with two broken feet and a lot of time. During the pandemic, Nicole taught herself to silversmith and began blending her early designs with a new touch of metal. Her current designs reflect this early inspiration, her environmental background, love for wilderness, and outdoor adventures.
