Lena Connolly

Lena Connolly is a multimedia artist based in Missoula, MT. She primarily creates hand made functional ceramics that display her whimsical and playful illustrations. She throws all of her own pieces, then utilizes a technique called sgraffito where she paints colored underglaze onto each piece and then intricately carves away the underglaze to reveal a contrast with the clay below. She likes making each piece unique in itself and often includes drawings of animals, vegetables, fruits, florals, playful abstract shapes, and landscapes. She also brings these drawings to life on stickers, prints, and apparel.
