Ukrainian Style Eggs – These are intricately dyed eggs (domestic – chicken, goose, ostrich) using a wax-resist (batik) method.  Using the natural canvas of real eggs, we are inspired and challenged by their simplicity to create works of art.  The eggs are decorated using a wax-resist method. Bee’s wax is applied to the egg using a small, finely-pointed brass funnel called a kistka, which allows for intricate and complex designs. Intensely shaded dyes are then layered between applications of wax, allowing our visions to come to life. Each egg is unique and has its own “personality” due to thickness of shell and absorption of dye, providing for pleasant surprises and unique pieces as the eggs are completed.
