True South Wood Designs

Wood pyrography is the art of drawing with fire. Artist Jenna Forest of True South Wood Designs creates sustainable and eco-friendly wood art using salvaged trees for customized designs and portraits. The wood slabs used as canvasses come from local Montana mills which she planes, cuts, and sands before beginning the process of woodburning. Her themes are drawn from nature and are often inspired by the natural scene within the wood grain. The goal is to capture the intentions of the mind without detracting from the beauty of the wood--art that is raw yet refined by purposeful design. Her work is often accentuated with splashes of color using wood stains, watercolor, and acrylic paint.

True South's creations include wall hanging landscapes and portraits, charcuterie boards and spoons, picture frames, ornaments, coasters, and smaller items such as wood jewelry, magnets, and bookmarks.
