Mattie Steinberg was born and raised in Missoula, Montana, where her love for art developed at a young age. Inspired by the beauty in the mundane and with a fascination for all things tiny, her style can be described as whimsical and intricate- with a deep love for and focus on the natural world. She explores and creates in a wide range of mediums, including; ceramics, jewelry, textiles, pen and watercolor, and digital illustration. Much of her work involves a combination of disciplines, such as the hand painted ceramic charms used in her jewelry, or the muslin fabric drawings sewn into her quilts. Mattie's jewelry is made with recycled findings, as well as vintage beads and charms carefully and ethically sourced. Her ceramics are hand formed, hand painted, and fired in her home kiln. Her textile pieces are made using reused and recycled fabrics and materials.
