Lura is an environmental engineering student at Montana State University, and harbors a passion for the intersection of art and science. Using a whimsical combination of real places and emotional experiences, Lura’s work uses unconventional colors, freedom, and wildness to allow the viewer to delve into their own emotional response to the shared experience of time spent in nature. The importance this shared experience has on the future of the planet is an idea that Lura explores through her art.
Lura's creative work includes acrylic and watercolor painting, and drawing in several mediums. Her work is a recreation of the freedom, beauty, and wildness she experiences when in the outdoors. These expressions have been focused through acrylic painting on a variety of surfaces, often using upcycled wood from an old barn, a n abandoned canvas, or even an old pizza box as a surface.
