My name is Cheri Thornton. I make porcelain ceramic wares for everyday use or fine art enjoyment. I love drawing on pottery--creating layered designs of metaphorical or abstract images and text. I hold a BFA from Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA, a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Ceramics from the University of Massachusetts/Dartmouth, and am a former resident artist of the Archie Bray Foundation for Ceramic Arts in Helena, MT. While in my twenties, I worked as a whitewater rafting guide, racking up thousands of river miles, which lead me toward many river adventures of my own with friends and family. I am a mom of two littles, a boy and a girl. Their middle names are River and Blue respectively. Hence, RiverBlue. Currently, I live at the base of Mount Ascension in Helena with my husband and our two funny, kind, and creative children.
