My name is Cheri Thornton. I make porcelain ceramic wares for everyday use and enjoyment. I love drawing on pottery—creating layered designs of abstract or metaphorical images and text. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA, a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Ceramics from the University of Massachusetts/Dartmouth, and am a former resident artist of the Archie Bray Foundation for Ceramic Arts in Helena, MT. While in my twenties, I worked as a whitewater rafting guide, which lead me toward many more river adventures of my own with friends and family. I am a mom of two little humans—a boy and a girl. Respectively, their middle names are River and Blue. Currently, I maintain a pottery studio in the foothills of Helena, where I live with my husband and our children.
